Duke of Edinburgh Silver Award expedition
Four learners from Trinity Academy Newcastle Upper Site completed their expedition towards gain the Silver Award, with a three day expedition to the Lake District. Camping just outside Keswick and completing three very arduous walks, demonstrating map reading skills, commitment, teamwork and enthusiasm.
The Duke of Edinburgh's Silver Award requires completing four sections: Volunteering, Physical, Skills, and Expedition. You'll need to dedicate at least six months to Volunteering, and a minimum of six months to either Physical or Skills, with the other section taking at least three months. The Expedition involves a three-day, two-night trip.
This was a fantastic trip creating a plethora of excellent memories, well done to the learners involved.
