Trinity Academy Upper Site Monumental Enrichment

Friday afternoon enrichment continued with a visit out into the local region to take in 2 iconic monuments. First stop, Penshaw Monument where local legend has it, the Lambton Worm wrapped itself around the hill before it was slain by John Lambton.

earners were amused by running up the hill, but forgot to count the steps up. Some of the learners had been up there before and told their adventures to others.

The final stop was to see The Angel of the North. Set just outside Gateshead overlooking the South of the region, the Angel was somewhere suggested by one of our learners to visit. So we did!

Crafted from steel and transported all the way from Hartlepool the Angel, like Penshaw monument are the ‘we’re nearly home’ icons of the North East.

A great afternoon spent on tour!
