Trinity Academy Newcastle Upper Site hosted its Festive celebration assembly to share with our learners, parents and carers the successes of the first term this academic year.

This term’s therapeutic focus has been on Mindfulness and Empathy. Learners have been watching videos to guide them in mindful breathing and games as part of their daily mindfulness time in the morning and reflection time in the afternoons.

Friday enrichment kept ‘on track’ with a relaxing walk up to where George Stephenson was born – a National Trust property housed on Hadrian’s Way which is part of the National Cycle Network.

Learners from Trinity Academy Newcastle Upper Site took part in the annual Wanderers basketball tournament. Eight schools from across the region met at the Newcastle Eagles' Arena.

As some of you may already know, our Upper Site SENCo, Miss Quearns, also has ADHD! Part of her superpower is her veracious appetite for knowledge and her constant search for the latest literature to support our neurodiverse learners.

As part of Outdoor Education, learners have had the opportunity to visit National Trust sites such as Gibside.
