Seven Year 11 learners from Trinity Academy Upper Site had an excellent destination visit to Newcastle College. This involved visits to Parsons to have a look at the facilities and meet learners on health and care, childcare and science courses.

This week in Art, KS3 started looking into the Arts and Crafts movement and generating their patterns for their advent calendar designs. The learners focused on the work of William Morris and used grid method to recreate one of his iconic patterns.

Friday afternoon enrichment continued with a visit out into the local region to take in 2 iconic monuments. First stop, Penshaw Monument where local legend has it, the Lambton Worm wrapped itself around the hill before it was slain by John Lambton.

Respect is not something that you are born with or can be bought. Respect is something that has to be taught and within the Sanctuary we do this by showing our learners how we treat each other and how we respect each other, whether that be respecting personal space or beliefs.
