    In our Humanities lessons, we have been studying the causes and effects of natural disasters and hazards. As part of this, learners recently had a go at designing 'earthquake-proof' buildings using unusual materials.

    Learning Outside The Classroom

    A few weeks back the Outdoor Education pathway went out into the Farm and relaxed in hammocks much to the delight of Mr Butler. Whilst we were there, the learners were curious about the space - the Outdoor Classroom.

    Gymnastics

    Learners at Trinity Academy Newcastle Upper Site demonstrate, literally, how the PE department set high expectations which inspire, motivate and challenge pupils. It was also a perfect opportunity to blow off some steam after a fantastic exam period.

    It's KNOT learning

    One of the important skills to develop in our lives is tying our shoelaces and teaching how to is something Mr Butler has done with his own children. Today, the Outdoor Education group were not learning; I mean KNOT learning which is an essential skill for bushcraft.

    Exploring the Woodlands

    Our learners were exploring the woodlands at Forest School and came across some wild garlic. The learners enjoyed using some of their senses by smelling, touching and tasting the garlic. The following week we decided to introduce the wild garlic to our outdoor cooking sessions.

    Several KS4 learners from Trinity Academy Newcastle Upper Site made a potential destination visit to Newcastle College.  They had the opportunity to experience the Uniform Services courses, which involved a trip to the simulation room.
